6 Highly Useful Hidden Facebook Features For You

We spend hours, sometimes days procrastinating on Facebook. We know every meme, every lame little poem backward! But do you know Facebook is more than what meets the eye?

Few hidden facebook features

Here are some hidden Facebook features that you probably didn’t figure out until now.

1] File Your Past Away

Facebook timeline has become a legitimate journal. We even get to reminisce with the memories to share features. But what if you were to delete your account? This is where the ‘download a copy in the General Settings becomes useful. You can store a copy of all your activities to recreate your timeline if needed.

2] Find Every Image Like From One Person

Type ‘photos liked by’ in the Facebook search bar and choose from the options like ‘husband’, ‘friend’, or ‘sibling’.  Add something like “from 2018” or “this month” or “last week” or the like to limit the time frame of the pics. Limit the time frame if you know which time you are looking for.

3] Choose Your Legacy Contact

What happens to the accounts that are abandoned due to the death of the owner? Not to scare you, but we all die at some time. So Facebook introduced the Legacy Contact feature to solve this. Whomsoever you give that responsibility to will have to delete your account if you are dead. They get no access to the messages but they can download other data if that is what you opt for. You navigate to the Legacy Contact tab from the Manage Accounts option in General Settings.

4] Get Tighter Security.

It’s a good idea to throw in some additional layers of security on your Facebook account. No, don’t worry that someone will break into your account and start “liking” BuzzFeed articles like crazy. But do be concerned that someone could get in and use the information they find to steal your identity and/or send malware-laden links to friends.

Ensuring security:

  • Enable Two-Factor Authentication. It’s a good idea to implement 2FA on all your accounts. That means if someone wants to access your account on a new device, they’ll also need access to your phone.
  • Third party login alerts are sent to the medium you chose.
  • Trusted Contacts can be useful in case of forgotten passwords.

5] Send Money Via Facebook

If you have a debit card you can easily send money to another debit card via Facebook. Go to Payments in Account Settings and add the card number. You are all set to send and receive money directly from and to your bank, via Facebook!

6] English Pirate

Now, you may be familiar with this one already. But many people are not. I myself noticed the English (Pirate) option after 3 years of being on Facebook. Yes, this is the English ( Upside Down) option. Opt for it and have fun.

These were 6 hidden Facebook features, full of fun and useful information. Use them whenever you find a chance. There are more hidden features but this is it for now.
