Twitter is only interesting if you follow good people, otherwise you will be presented with a wall of nothing every time you log in. Why Should People Follow You On Twitter?
Tweets on Twitter seem to influence people who read it. Twitter is a place where you not only share your ideas, but also you help people there, give compliments, and spread positivity.
There is a framework of why people should or may choose to follow you on twitter:
- Reputation: If you have already established a strong brand, the choice will be unaffected. People will follow you either for your brand, or they are merely interested in you.
- The appearance of legitimacy: Do you look genuine? The egg as an avatar shows that you are just screwing around. Your handle also makes a difference. Twitter is available freely; anyone can read your tweets, unless you create your account private. If you have an open mind, then anyone can communicate with you, and you are going to be judged. If your handle is ambivalent or hard to understand, you are showing that you don’t necessarily want to be liable for what you say. Finally, make your design choices and show other tweeters that you are worth paying attention.
- Popularity: Popularity is another factor which attracts people to your account. Someone with less than 100 tweets and less than 100 followers gives off a very different aura than someone with 5,000 tweets and 10,000 followers. So, the simple thing is to tweet more and also useful, to gain more followers. Social proof is a dominant force.
- Content: Good content is significant. People will not waste their time reading useless tweets. After reading a few words, if they find that tweet interesting, they will instantly like it, and maybe you gain one follower also.
- Personal relationship: Does the reader know you personally? That’s your last valid hope. Even if your Twitter feed is weak, your friend or relative still loves you.
- Instant follow back: Lastly, some people will only follow you because they think that you will support them again. This is a pretty low bar. You should not count on this or personal relationships to get your numbers up.
Take a hard look at your Twitter account and check that all of these issues are under your control or not.

- The early morning hours appear to be the time in which tweets receive the most clicks.
- Evenings and late at nights are the times when your tweets receive the most favorites and retweets, on average.
The most popular time to tweet and the best times to tweet differ across time zones, but still, anytime between 9 am to 3 pm are peak times of twitter use. On the optimal days, the best time to tweet is from 1 pm to 3 pm.
